6 Weeks

Tomorrow marks 6 weeks since we lost Spencer. Tomorrow, he will have been gone longer than he was here.

Spencer was here for one holiday, St. Patricks day. While he was not able to wear the onesie I had gotten him, I still made sure he got a picture ‘wearing’ it.

How I wish he had the luck of the Irish

He has already missed Passover, and Easter.

Now, follows every other holiday in a year that he will miss. Mother’s Day, Father’s day, birthdays, and so much more.

Today we are we planting Spencer and his trees in our yard in his memory. As we had Spencer cremated, we went with a living urn-and will be planting him with the trees.

He can be here with us, he can grow, he can watch over us and we can watch him.

Kenzie approved of her brothers tree...she even played with it.

We aren't just planting any tree- but an Autumn Blaze Maple. It will grow 40+ feet, and be bright red in fall-even brighter than the red hair Spencer had been starting to show. The tree will be seen from all around and have the best view of the yard and house. Always a part of things.

An Autumn Blaze Maple in all its glory

We are also planting a bush with red branches- so even in winter Spencer's color will be somewhere for us to see.

Today we give him roots that will make him part of the world forever, and that is the biggest gift I can get.
